This German composer Niklas Paschburg has already caused some waves in the classical and ambient circles with his debut Oceanic back in 2017 (and his legendary performance on our Palms & Circumstances session). Now he is back with Duvet, teasing his forthcoming sophomore record Svalbard. Written in the misty landscapes of Norway, the two intertwined piano melodies dance around each other like fog on an early winter morning. Niklas Paschburg manages to keep the instrumentation to a minimum but achieves the maximum effect with his intelligent arrangements. Duvet is something between positive musical observation of the world and swaying in melancholia.
