Despite constantly relasing really good material over the past decade it still feels as if Portland-based two-piece Pure Bathing Culture is something like a best kept secret in the indie scene. Hopefully this will change with their forthcoming new album Night Pass, the first one since 2015’s Pray For Rain which we also enjoyed very much. With Devotion, the first single from it, vocalist Sarah Versprille and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Hindman deliver a furious return in form of an uplifting indie pop anthem with undeniable 80s vibes. It sounds like a forgotten gem from Fleetwood Mac‘s Tango In The Night sessions from around 1987. This hook, this melody and all the greatness that surrounds the song really make it an instant hit single… well, if you are into that sort of sound. Pure Bathing Culture‘s new album arrives on April 26 and we surely hope it’ll give them the attention they surely deserve.
