Midland’s Violet bring drum-heavy grunge guitars and indie pop sensibilities together on Shiver. The single is lifted off their debut EP Feels Like Heaven, which was released last fall. On the energy-loaded track the five-piece show their musical craft and amidst the raging thunder of 90s-tinged guitars evoke a unique sonic grandeur. Shiver was a turning point in the band’s history as it sparked the sound, they are going for with the EP. Under the working title, ‘Big Beat’, they summed up the large indie rock arrangements that we can hear now. In its intensity the track electrifies and energizes simultaneously, it’s the kind of single that makes you want to break into a random full sprint, like in the fitting black and white video.
