Ships by Austrian four-piece Wallners really feels and sounds like the musical equivalent of watching a shift slowly drifting along the horizon. Riding on a gentle almost-jazzy groovy the second teaser from the band’s upcoming debut EP really captures the essence of that introspective moment. Nino, Max, Anna and Laurenz Wallner are all siblings and that might explain the natural connection between the single elements of the music. The foundation remains pretty pure, almost neo-classical but the band ans especially singer Anna add smoky and fragile soul vibes to the equation. Ships is a an exciting insight into whatever is next for the siblings. We definitely get on board of the slow sailing Wallners ship as it heads for new waters in 2021.
