As I really enjoyed last year’s debut LP A Quality Of Mercy by Australian rock outfit RVG (and you hopefully as well), I’m quite happy to have the four-piece back with a greant new single these days. Alexandra is another powerful, retro-driven piece of old-fashioned indie/ new wave rock that is once again carried by charismatic leading lady Romy Vager (RVG stands for Romy Vager Group). Furious, frantic and unadapted – the singer follows the footstepst of Patti Smith, Chrissie Hynde and Siouxsie Sioux and we could really need more characters in the scene like her. Alexandra is out now digitally but of course, there’s also going to be a 7” single soon with a John Cale cover as a B-Side.
