Saint Sister Team Up With Lisa Hannigan For Haunting Folk Ballad “The Place That I Work”

We made it… almost. 2020 is nearly over and we couldn’t have asked for a better final Daily Tune to end this year than the wonderful return of Irish duo Saint Sister. As we enjoyed the band’s 2018 debut Shape Of Silence quite a lot, their latest single The Place That I Work causes a certain amount of excitement over here and it’s magical atmosphere doesn’t disappoint at all. On the gentle new single Dublin-based songwriter Morgan MacIntyre and multi-instrumentalist Gemma Doherty tell he story of a reconciled friendship following a period of estrangement. It was inspired by MacIntyre working as a Christmas temp in Dublin’s oldest book shop, Hodges Figgis which might explain a certain festive undertone within the song. The story of the song really happened that way in the shop and that makes it even sweeter. On top of it, the one and only Lisa Hannigan joins Saint Sister and makes this entire song even more precious. It’s a wonderful, intimate affair and a fitting final musical treasure before we go on hibernation in the next weeks. Have a joyful socially distanced Christmas and a good start into a probably better 2021.
