Black Country, New Road Break Loose On Furious New Single “Science Fair”

There’s litte bands who have as much hype as London post-punk outfit Black Country, New Road, compared to how little material they actually got out. With only two songs being out on the streaming platforms, they already got their own Facebook fanpage, named ‚sunglasses posting‘ (titled after their second track Sunglasses). Before the pandemic, BCNR were regulars at the Windmill, sometimes alongside Black Midi. To match the hype, the sept-piece just announced their debut album For The First Time, to be released in February next year.  The first track Science Fair sounds as unwieldy, clever as their previous songs. There’s distorted guitars, extensive saxophone solos and explicitly charged lyrics. While singer Isaac Wood skants „it’s black country out there!’ multiple times during the song, we certainly hope that there’s more of that following soon.
