Swedish wave rockers Spunsugar have been on my radar for quite some time now. Last year’s debut album Drive-Through Chapel was an intense and emotional goth rock experience you should all know about. Needless to say, I’m happy that the trio is back with a new EP. Following the already released one-off single (You Never) Turn Around back in January the new material continues to follow the band’s past towards catchy pop hooks without sounding pretentious at all. Rodan is the opening track of a new EP called Things That I Confuse which is out on October 1, featuring four sparkling new tracks from the Spunsugar gang. With it’s icy lo-fi vibe and that irresistible retro vibe that gets me everytime the band unfolds a truly mesmerizing little alternative pop geb with this one. It’s intense fun and you should not miss it.
