Zooni are bringing us a fresh art pop single straight from their home base Brighton. Cascara is something between Radiohead and Portishead, mixing electronic influences with intricate instrumental layers, topped by pained falsetto vocals. The track starts off on a fuzzy blown out note but wanders off into reverbed guitar-heavy terrain towards the end. The four musicians created a hypnotic single that reminds of the weightless moments in between when the time stands still for a minute lying awake in the middle of the night or looking at the blinding midday sun. Cascara is already the fourth single Zooni are have released this year and it looks like there are big things to come for this band, starting with the EP Familiar Ground out in October
